What We Collect

• Platform choice (e.g. Hinge, Bumble)
• Gender, age range, and city — used to calibrate analysis
• Bio text — analyzed for communication signals
• Email address (optional) — only if you choose to receive a copy of your report
• Uploaded photos — stored only on your device and never on our servers (see below)

Photo Handling

Your photos are stored only on your device so you can view your results, including the recommended photo order. They are never uploaded to our servers or saved to any database. For analysis, photo data is sent to OpenAI's Vision API, processed in-memory, and discarded from server memory once the analysis completes.

We use the following third-party services to operate Halo. Each receives only the minimum data necessary for its function:

Data Retention & Auto-Deletion

All report data is automatically deleted 30 days after creation. If you provided an email address, we will send you a final copy of your report before deletion. After deletion, your data cannot be recovered.

What We Don't Do

• We never evaluate physical attractiveness
• We never store your photos on our servers — they stay on your device
• We never sell or share your data with advertisers
• We never send marketing emails
• We never use your data for model training

Our Analysis Methodology

Our analysis is grounded in peer-reviewed research in social psychology and dating behaviour. Scoring formulas are deterministic — computed by code, not AI opinion — and based on published findings including:

• Willis & Todorov (2006) — First impressions form in under 100ms and rarely change
• Eftekhar et al. (2014) — Selfies reduce perceived trustworthiness and likability by 15–20%
• Mueser et al. (1984) — Genuine (Duchenne) smiles increase perceived warmth and approachability by 25–40%
• Finkel et al. (2012) — Specific details in bios drive 60% more engagement than generic profiles
• Vogel & Rose (2016) — Filtered photos are perceived as less authentic and more narcissistic

Suggestions are advisory and based on research averages. Individual results may vary. We do not guarantee any specific increase in matches or dating success.

Your Rights

You may request immediate deletion of your data at any time by emailing enquiries@sidequest.london. Under GDPR and similar regulations, you have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data.

Service Description

Halo provides AI-powered dating profile analysis. We analyze your photos, bio, and profile presentation to provide feedback on how your profile may be perceived by others.

No Guarantees

Our analysis combines AI-powered observation with deterministic scoring formulas grounded in peer-reviewed dating and social psychology research. Suggestions are based on published findings about how people perceive photos, bios, and profiles. We do not guarantee any specific outcome, increase in matches, or dating success. Results are advisory only.

Age Requirement

You must be at least 18 years old to use this service.

Acceptable Use

You may only submit your own dating profile for analysis. Submitting another person's profile without their consent is prohibited.

Payment

The full report costs a one-time payment of £1.99, processed securely via Stripe. Refunds are not available after the report has been delivered, as the service is fully rendered at that point.

Limitation of Liability

Halo is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind. We are not liable for any decisions you make based on our analysis. Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid for the service.

Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
